A Helping Hand

The word doula is an ancient word that originates from the Greek meaning a "woman's servant". Today a postpartum doula is known as an advisor and helper who provides education, companionship, and support for mothers and their families in their first weeks or months home, following birth. Support can take many forms and is individualized to meet the needs of each family.
